The purpose of the Homecoming Day day is to offer our alumni inspiring discussions on current topics as well as an opportunity to reconnect with old friends. The theme of the 2023 Homecoming Day is Managing Disruption.  Attendees get to hear presentations and discuss the topic with both their fellow-alumni and our academic community. The day continues with dinner, music, dancing and delightful encounters with fellow alumni at the School of Business in Otaniemi.

The keynote speech of the main seminar will be given by Pekka Lundmark, President and CEO of Nokia. The speech will be followed by a discussion moderated by Vesa Puttonen, Professor of Finance, and Eeva Vilkkumaa, Assistant Professor of Management Science. They will interview, in addition to the keynote speaker, two guest speakers: Leena Mörttinen, Permanent Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, and Eerika Savolainen, CEO of Slush.

All the academic departments of the School of Business will be represented in the versatile parallel program that follows the main seminar. The new Alumnus/a of the Year of the School of Business will also be announced at the Homecoming Day.

Since 2014, the Homecoming Day has been organized every other year, excluding 2020 and 2022. The themes of the previous Homecoming Day events have been competitiveness, Business and Society in 2020 and Brave New Work, and the speakers have included Sauli Niinistö, President of the Republic of Finland, Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko, CEO of Marimekko, Casper von Koskull, former President and CEO of Nordea, and many others.
