Third year BSc student in Electrical Engineering! Possibility to apply to a BIP-course “ROS in Embedded Design for Mobile Robots”
This BIP is designed for late Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering i.e. you need to be in your third year of studies. The program consists of two complementary parts: a virtual and an on-site component. More details on the .
The virtual component consists of a series of online lectures introducing the key topics of the course. The online lectures will take place between 26.1. and 8.2.2026 (exact schedule tba). Topics:
- Simulation as a tool for system development - Jorge Barreiros, ISEC Coimbra
Getting Started with ROS 2 - Janusz Jakubiak, PWr Wrocław
Introduction to micro-ROS - Thomas Herpoel, HELHa Mons
Localization techniques for mobile robots - Sérgio Correia, IPP Portalegre
Programming Embedded Platforms for Robotics - Fernanda Coutinho, ISEC Coimbra
The on-site component will take place at Wrocław University of Science and Technology from 16.-20.02.2026. There, you will apply the knowledge gained during the lectures through practical workshops covering the following topics:
- Programming hardware interfaces in embedded systems
Practical development of ROS system
Localization and navigation of mobile robots
Implementation of micro-ROS-based robot controller
Students will earn 3 ECTS credits upon completion. Aalto selects and nominates only students that are eligible for Erasmus+ short-term mobilities. For this course, 1-2 students can receive the short-term grant. If the credits do not fit into your degree, you are not eligible to apply.
