Three Aalto University professors among the world’s most highly cited researchers in 2020

Professors Arkady V. Krasheninnikov, Zhipei Sun and Tarik Taleb have been named on the annual Highly Cited Researchers list from Clarivate, based on Web of Science citation index.

Three Aalto University researchers, Arkady V. Krasheninnikov, Zhipei Sun and Tarik Taleb, have been named on the annual  2020 list from analytics company Clarivate. The annual list identifies researchers who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. Their names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science citation index.

Zhipei Sun is a professor of photonics at Aalto University Department of Electronics and Nanoengineering. Professor Tarik Taleb studies mobile network softwarization and service customization at the Department of Communications and Networking. Arkadi V. Krasheninnikov studies electronic properties of materials and is a visiting professor at the Department of Applied Physics.

Altogether the list included 6 167 researchers from more than 60 countries and regions. As in previous years, the United States is home to the highest number of them, with 2650 authors, representing 41.5 % of the researchers on the list. The number of researchers with a Finnish first or second affiliation was 21.
