Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko appointed ºÚÁÏÍø University Board

The Aalto University Academic Affairs Committee has appointed Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko, MSc (Econ), as a new member of the Aalto University Board as of 1 January 2025. The term of office is three years.

Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko is President and CEO of Marimekko Corporation, where she has held a number of leadership positions since 2005. She brings to the board her deep knowledge and experience of business life and leadership together with multidisciplinary industry–university collaboration, especially in integrating creative fields with business solutions. 

Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko holds a master’s degree from the Helsinki School of Economics and a CEMS Master in International Management degree from the CEMS Global Alliance. She has completed executive education programmes at the Harvard Business School and the IMD Business School.

Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko sits on the board of Finnair and the Climate Leadership Coalition. She is a member of the IMD Business School Foundation Board, Vice Chair of the Aalto University Student Union Honorary Delegation and a Business Fellow of the Finnish Business and Policy Forum EVA. Aalto University granted her an honorary doctorate in technology in 2024.

As of 1 January 2025, the Aalto University Board will comprise Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko, Mariana Amatullo, Karel Luyben, Andreas Mortensen, Marita Niemelä, Tero Ojanperä and Hanna Sievinen.
