Unite! Joins the European Universities Networking Day: Strengthening Alliances Across Finland

The European Universities Networking Day provided a platform for dialogue among Finnish alliances, promoting knowledge sharing, innovation, and collaborative problem-solving. The day opened with updates from the Finnish National Agency for Education () about new national working groups, followed by a full programme of engaging roundtable discussions and networking.
A variety of roundtable discussions
Participants chose from 17 roundtable topics and gathered to address the challenges and solutions within each. Several key areas were addressed including alliance outreach, joint programme accreditation, student engagement and communications, operational management, seed-funding initiatives, micro-credentials within alliances, research cooperation and community building, doctoral education within alliances and cross-alliance cooperation at European, national, and local levels. A PDF of summaries from each of the roundtables can be found below.
According to the survey conducted at the end of the event, the main takeaways about the event itself were:
- Many alliances share similar challenges, making networking, collaboration, and benchmarking all the more important for efficiency and meaningful impact.
- Alliances are not just another project but a part of daily operations and organisational strategy.
To be continued!
The event culminated in a shared commitment to further collaboration, with alliance representatives emphasising the importance of sustained dialogue and innovation. It was announced that the next European Universities Networking Day will be held in Kuopio, December 2025.
