University Board approved the budget, endowment strategy and risk management policy

The Aalto University Board held its meeting on Thursday and Friday 24–25 November 2016.

In its meeting, the Board approved the University's 2017 budget, endowment strategy and risk management policy. The budget is based on the plan for balancing of finances and measures agreed upon already in 2015. More details about the budget and school-specific funding decisions will be released on 2 December 2016.

A decision was also made to change the English name of the School of Chemical Technology to the School of Chemical Engineering.

Before the meeting, the Board discussed campus development and visited the recently opened Learning Centre, which made quite an impression on the board members. The Board also talked about ways to successfully build mutually beneficial strategic corporate partnerships, Aalto-wide joint strategic investments, and future targets with regard to educating game changers.
