When Lean Construction and Agile Software Engineering Meet

The Aalto BIMforLean project team and doctoral student Ergo Pikas from both the Aalto Univeristy and Tallinn University of Technology organized a work

1. The Aalto BIMforLean project team and doctoral student Ergo Pikas from both the Aalto Univeristy and Tallinn University of Technology organized a workshop: "When Lean Construction and Agile Software Engineering Meet".

The aim of the seminar was to bring together different views of interest: software engineering, construction design and academics. As with lean construction, Toyota Product Development and Production Systems have greatly influenced also agile software engineeirng and management. Moreover, it could be argued that agile management has been the most successful in implementing productive sciences. Until today, lean construction has largely focused on construction production, but the appropriate next step is to shift the focus to design. Thus, we organized a half a day seminar for sharing insights on capturing the voice of customer, organizing and managing design processes and delivering customer value.
