Master's Programme in Life Science Technologies is jointly organized by the School of Science, the School of Chemical Engineering, and the School of Electrical Engineering. The programme is coordinated by the School of Science.

This site contains the student study guide for the master鈥檚 programme with materials and instructions on all the majors available in the programme. Here you will find the programme curriculum as well as detailed guidelines for planning your studies.

Technological innovations have become an essential part of modern healthcare, well-being and bioeconomy. Therefore, both in academic research and industry there is an increasing need for people who can deal with today's increasingly complex biomedical problems.

Master's Programme in Life Science Technologies offers a multidisciplinary curriculum focusing on important aspects of current biomedical research, covering fields such as biological data analysis and modeling, advanced biomaterials and bioelectronics, biomedical engineering and neuroscience. The program draws on fundamental and applied knowledge on these fields and is closely linked to research conducted in the participating Schools and Departments.

The programme offers six majors:

  • Bioinformatics and Digital Health (SCI)
  • Biomedical Engineering (SCI)
  • Biosensing and Bioelectronics (ELEC)
  • Biosystems and Biomaterials Engineering (CHEM) NOTE: The major will be withdrawn as of 1 August 2028. Students may select the BioSM major or minor until 31 July 2026, and they have until 31 July 2028 to complete it.
  • Complex Systems (SCI)
  • Human Neuroscience and Technology (SCI)

If you are a student of School of Science and want to change your master鈥檚 programme, first check whether you meet the criteria for starting studies in the programme. The criteria for transferring to the programme must be met in bachelor's degree.

This master鈥檚 programme focuses on the research and development of technologies and methodologies used in the life sciences.

Tuition fees 

Tuition fee for tuition-fee students in this programme:

  • Study right started on or before 1 August 2024: 15,000 EUR / academic year
  • Study right started on or after 1 August 2025: 17,000 EUR / academic year
