Description of the programme

Master's Programme in Mechanical Engineering is organized by the School of Engineering. The programme builds upon a thorough understanding of core mechanics subjects, which is complemented through advanced and elective studies, as well as through a research based thesis. The programme offers seven majors and provides a solid engineering basis for working in an international, competitive and highly innovative environment.

The programme is flexible and versatile, offering many possibilities for specialization, but supports also multidisciplinary combination of courses. The finished degree opens doors to a multitude of career paths in consulting, design, product development and management, or to doctoral studies at Aalto University and other excellent universities.

Mechanical Engineering, Master of Science (Technology)

In Mechanical Engineering Master鈥檚 Programme you can become an expert in Arctic Technology, Engineering Materials, Marine Technology, Mechatronics, Product Development, Production Engineering and Solid Mechanics, or create your own combination. We empower students follow their interests in the field of mechanical engineering as their professional skills are needed for creating more effective and safe solutions for the society.

Tuition fees 

Tuition fee for tuition-fee students in this programme:

  • Study right started on or before 1 August 2024: 15,000 EUR / academic year
  • Study right started on or after 1 August 2025: 17,000 EUR / academic year
