The starting places have not yet been decided. The number of starting places will be announced on Aalto University’s website and in the Opintopolku service by October 2026 at the latest. 

Those who have completed the matriculation examination (Finnish matriculation examination, IB diploma, EB diploma, RP/DIA diploma) apply primarily on the basis of the points awarded for the grades in the matriculation examination. The selection criteria will be decided by August 2026 at the latest and will be published on Aalto University’s website and in the Studyinfo service by October 2026 at the latest. 

It is not possible to change programme within the School of Business through an internal transfer or transfer application. If you want to change programme, you must reapply for a study place through the student admission process for bachelor’s programmes. 

After completing the BSc degree at the School of Business, the student can continue directly, or by meeting certain criteria, to most of the School of Business master’s programmes. Some master’s programmes require a separate application in the master’s admissions process. The Bachelor’s Programme in Technology, Business and Design may have a different procedure. 

Students admitted in the spring 2026 student admission can choose their major subject from eight options: management studies, accounting, marketing, finance, economics, information and service management, responsibility and impact, and business law. In the responsibility and impact and business law majors, the language of instruction is Finnish. In the other majors, the language of instruction is English. In some majors there are more applicants than the quota, so selection criteria are used for their admission. 

Students admitted in the spring 2027 student admission can choose their major subject from seven options: management studies, accounting, marketing, economics, information and service management, responsibility and impact, and business law. Students admitted in the spring 2027 student admission cannot choose finance as their major. In the responsibility and impact and business law majors, the language of instruction is Finnish. In the other majors, the language of instruction is English. In some majors there are more applicants than the quota, so selection criteria may be used for their admission. 

However, those admitted in the spring 2026 student admission to the Bachelor’s Programme in Business, who during the first academic year have registered as absent on statutory grounds (for example military service) and will only start their studies in August 2027, can still apply for the finance major in the spring 2028 major selection. 

Students in all bachelor’s programmes can study finance as a minor subject. In addition, the requirements for the Bachelor's Programme in Business include the course Basics of Finance. 

The application periods for the programmes differ, so please check them carefully. With one application you prioritise the English-language bachelor’s programmes at Aalto University among themselves, and with another application you prioritise the Finnish-language bachelor’s programmes. In this way you can be offered a study place in both admission rounds. However, you can accept only one study place. If you accept a study place in one of these selections, you cannot remain on the waiting list for a study place in the other selection, but your application in that selection will be cancelled automatically.
