Computer, Communication and Information Sciences - Communications Engineering major
The students of the Master’s Programme in Computer, Communication and Information Sciences majoring in Communications Engineering can apply for double degree studies. We currently offer a double degree programme option in partnership with Grenoble INP. In addition, a double degree programme in partnership with UPC Barcelona is planned to be re-opened in 2026. By studying at two leading institutions, students will gain a comprehensive and well-rounded education in this cutting-edge field. With a unique and prestigious qualification, our double degree program enhances employability and increases eligibility for international job opportunities.
Communications Engineering, Master of Science (Technology)
In our digitally revolutionised world, the ability to develop, build, and maintain networks is in greater demand than ever before.
Automation and Electrical Engineering
All students in the Master’s Programme in Automation and Electrical Engineering can apply for double degree studies at TU Darmstadt. This double degree is open for students of all the three majors of the programme. The double degree option provides a broad range of subjects, allowing students to enhance their expertise in Communications and Electrical Engineering.
In Electrical Power and Energy Engineering major, a student can also apply to complete their 2nd year of studies in Reykjavik Unviersity in Iceland and get a double degree. This double degree is the perfect program for electrical engineers looking to specialize in power systems and automation. This opportunity offer allows students to expand their knowledge and expertise in the electric power field.

Automation and Electrical Engineering, Master of Science (Technology)
The Master’s Programme in Automation and Electrical Engineering prepares its graduates to perform in the intersection between hardware and software, ranging from the fields of Electrical Engineering and Energy sectors to Biomedical Engineering, Control Engineering and Robotics. Drawing from extensive research and fundamental theories in mathematical and natural sciences, the programme focuses on the applicable side of technologies, including topics like Autonomous Systems, Health Technology, Smart Grids and Renewable Energy Solutions.
Autonomous Systems and Intelligent Robots
The Autonomous Systems and Intelligent Robots study programme is a combination of computer science and electrical engineering. During the programme, students will gain new skills in both areas. In computer science, relevant skills include Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, artificial intelligence and robot vision. In electrical engineering, relevant skills are automation, robotics, control, embedded systems and communications.
Autonomous Systems and Intelligent Robots - ICT Innovation (EIT Digital Master School), Master of Science (Technology)
From self-driving cars and robotic assistants to the Internet of Things and AI-driven hardware devices and software solutions – the future is undeniably autonomous. As an emerging technology, autonomous systems present both significant opportunities and inherent risks. Successfully navigating this complex landscape requires not only a solid understanding of the underlying technologies but, more importantly, the ability to critically evaluate autonomous processes and effectively balance business impact against the resources invested.
Cloud and Network Infrastructures and High-Performance Computing
The Cloud and Network Infrastructures and High-Performance Computing (CNI) programme within the EIT Digital Master School is a unique offering that provides a holistic view on fixed and mobile networking and cloud computing and high-performance computing combining it with a minor on innovation and entrepreneurship. Students will be equipped with profound knowledge on network management, operation, and design on the one hand, and cloud service, distributed and high-performance computing and deployment models, implementation strategies, and application design on the other.
Cloud and Network Infrastructures and High-Performance Computing - ICT Innovation (EIT Digital Master School), Master of Science (Technology)
When our networks became overwhelmed with connected devices and streaming services, cloud computing saved the day. Now, the so-called ‘cloudification’ of networks is set to unleash a new era of smart connectivity – enabling everything from Industry 4.0 applications to autonomous vehicles, 5G and 6G, augmented reality, and urban infrastructure. With the increase of AI, we need more focus on efficient and distributed computation in the form of high-performance computing.
