Research

Research at the School of Engineering is about studying and developing society’s critical infrastructure: new energy solutions, more durable and efficient machinery, and the design and construction of tomorrow’s living environments.

Research at the School of Engineering is focused into four areas:

  1. Buildings, property and infrastructures
  2. Energy technologies and systems
  3. Machine design, materials and manufacturing
  4. Monitoring, planning and management of land and water

Research work happens within and between research groups operating in the school's three departments. Pioneering research at the school is made possible by an international research staff, broad-based collaboration and world-class research infrastructure at our Otaniemi campus.
