Labour legislation

The conditions of employment at Aalto University are determined primarily on the basis of labour legislation, the General collective agreement for universities and the employment contract.

Collective agreement

The collective agreement includes provisions on matters such as the salary payment system, working hours, annual holiday, and sickness pay.

The parties to the agreement are the Finnish Education Employers (FEE) representing the employer and, as representatives of personnel, the Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals JUKO, the Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL and Trade Union Pro. 

The current collective agreement is valid from 21 May 2025 to 31 March 2028.
