FAQ - Frequently Answered Questions
The WiT Programme is intense and demands full-time engagement. We don’t recommend having other courses or work running at the same time.
The program starts with a 4-week Online Camp, which can be done anywhere in the world. This is followed by a 4-week Fieldwork at the chosen case study location. After the fieldwork, the participants travel to Finland, where the 7-week Otaniemi Camp for project development takes place on site at the Aalto campus in Otaniemi, Espoo.
The WiT Programme team provides the participants with information for accommodation options. You are responsible for making your own bookings and payments. Early preparation is recommended.
For those without a degree study right, the tuition fee is 45 € per ECTS, which totals 1080 € for the entire programme (24 ECTS). The programme is free of charge for those with a degree study right in one of the Aalto Doctoral Programmes.
The participants are also expected to organise and pay for their own travel to case study location and Otaniemi Camp in Finland, accommodation, visa arrangements and their own travel and health insurance.
Your travel insurance should also cover health care, if your healthcare abroad is not otherwise covered, for example in Finland the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) covers your health care. Make also sure your travel insurance covers both your travel to Finland as well as to the case location outside Europe.
The participants are responsible for securing their own visas. The WiT Programme provides documentation and guidance to support this process.
Unfortunately, the WiT Programme cannot provide scholarships.
We consider your case preferences, but we can't guarantee your first choice. The teams are formed to maximise disciplinary and geographic diversity.
