Slip-cast, stained porcelain

This project explores hoe emotional connection can be fostered through everyday objects by reimagining the butter tray as a playful, multifunctional tableware set. Drawing inspiration from the tactile and visual experiences of shared meals, the design invites interaction through stackable components, brick-like textures, and colors that subtly suggest use and accessibility. Rooted in the theme "building blocks", the set reflects on notions of modularity, memory, and materiality. The interlocking forms reference both architectural repetition and the emotional building blocks of daily rituals. While the exterior retains the raw porcelain surface to enhance tactile engagement, the vivid colors and patterns offer a more expressive and intuitive experience, making them accessible to users of all ages.

Balancing function with narrative, this project encourages users to form lasting relationships with the objects they use, promoting emotional sustainability and a more thoughtful approach to design.
