Building design studio 2, 2019 — Architecture and Design Museum, Helsinki
The course focused on designing a new Architecture and Design Museum in Helsinki, examining what defines a museum and its architecture. Students explored how the building could engage its site and communicate design culture.
Introduction
This master course studied the locating of the new Architecture and Design Museum to Makasiiniranta site in Helsinki. The room programme was based on a previous diploma work made on the same subject and site, totalling 9000 m2. The teachers of the course were Antti Ahlava, Selina Anttinen and Eero Lunden.
