The School of Chemical Engineering’s operations are shaped and tracked through the university’s annual strategic planning processes, as described in the Aalto Handbook.
In the beginning of each calendar year, as part of the University Review, the school conducts a self-assessment of the strategy implementation using the previous year's results and feedback. School's review material is discussed in the management team, and main observations are communicated to the school personnel by the dean.
In the spring, the school holds departmental strategy dialogues between the dean and the department heads. These discussions prepare for the school's annual target setting in the University Dialogue, which is held between the university leadership and the school in late spring. This process results in the school's strategic plan, which sets objectives for the next year and outlines a joint plan for the following three years.
In the end of the year, University Preview focuses on evaluating changes in the university's operating environment. The preview is typically conducted at the university level.
