In a world that’s changing faster than ever, no one can predict the future — but we can affect it.

The big problems facing our planet today — such as climate change, poverty and inequality — are complex and severe, but they’re not unsolvable. To fight them, we need to work together. Business and government, design and research, creativity and common sense; we need it all.

Unfolding Tomorrow by Aalto Venures Program and is a new monthly event series that brings representatives from business, academia and government to discuss sustainability from different angels and offer concrete information and solutions. The event topics come from the UN's  (SDGs), and their targets and indicators.

The idea for the event series comes from Aalto Ventures Program, the university's entrepreneurship education program, who is focused on building a more sustainable world through entrepreneurship. Collaborating with Aaltoes has helped bringing in interesting speakers from their vast network, as well as with reaching more students.

"We envision a future where the whole Aalto community contributes to SDGs, whether they're scientists, artistic practitioners, engineers or entrepreneurs. Hopefully this event series encourages people to take action," says Myungji Suh from AVP.

The first Unfolding Tomorrow session is about introducing the concept of sustainability through SDGs and Net Impact. Speakers from Aalto University, and the Finnish government give brief introductory talks followed by a panel discussion, during which the audience can also ask questions.

The next upcoming events will tackle gender equality (SDG 5), climate action (SDG 13) and responsible consumption (SDG 12).
