Alumni Challenge launched by telephone

Hundreds of Aalto alumni received a campaign phone call during one evening.

Aalto University's fundraising campaign held a telephone event on 23 May during which six hundred Aalto alumni, i.e. Aalto graduates, were to receive phone calls over the span of one afternoon and evening. The phone calls kicked off the Alumni Challenge (#AlumniHaaste), the aim of which is to activate alumni to take part in future building of the university.

An enthusiastic group of Aalto University students, alumni, campaign support group members and campaign staff have agreed to man the phones. During the calls, callers will give information on Aalto's current news and events, thank alumni for previous support and tell alumni how to donate to the university.

- A big thank you goes to the fantastic group of students headed by Annamaija Hutri without whom this event would not have been possible. The time put in by the campaign support group's Linda Liukas and Miki Kuusi as well as IMPROVment Oy's Jani Turku has been invaluable to us, said Nora Rahnasto, who is in charge of donor relations for fundraising at Aalto University.

The School of Business and the Association of Economics Students in Helsinki (KY) are participating in the campaign on 24 May by making around 400 phone calls to former KY board members and employees.

The Alumni Challenge or #AlumniHaaste campaign will continue with new events in the autumn and spring 2017.

Aalto University's fundraising campaign has set a goal to raise 20 million euros in donations by the end of June 2017. Matched funding from the government could mean the university will receive a sum that is many times that received in donations. More information on donations: giving.aalto.fi
