Are you interested in exploring 鈥榗ulture鈥 from a different perspective? Are you interested in understanding 鈥榠ntercultural communication (ICC)鈥 beyond making assumptions about people just based on their nationality? LC-0610 is designed for you who want to build up critical awareness and effective communication skills to become an ethical intercultural communicator working in a diverse workplace.
We will start by discussing how to unpack the term, 鈥榗ulture鈥 that we use for pretty much everything. Why? Because 鈥榗ulture鈥 is one of the most notoriously complicated concepts in English (more than you expected)! Then, we will gradually expand our learning by exploring a range of interesting topics (e.g. 鈥榮tereotyping鈥, 鈥榗ulture shock & reverse culture shock鈥, 鈥榝acework鈥, 鈥榥on-verbal communication鈥)
This course is composed of lectures as well as small group discussions, so you will be able to have lots of interesting discussions with your peers having diverse backgrounds.
