FITech is a network of Finnish universities of technology that offers free studies to all Finns and people permanently living in Finland. The network is coordinated by Aalto University. As the courses offered through FITech are part of the universities’ degree programs, official study credits (ECTS) are granted for completed courses. Adult learners can also receive FITech’s digital badge for completed courses, which can be added, for example, to a LinkedIn profile to showcase acquired skills.

In summer 2026, FITech offers a diverse selection of courses related to sustainability, cybersecurity, and future technologies. You can start from the basics or delve deeper into topics such as programming, information security, 5G technology, sustainability, and batteries.

Applications for FITech’s summer courses open on 14 April 2026 at 9:00. Complement your degree or deepen your knowledge with free university courses! You can find all courses on FITech’s website.

Instructions for degree students

Degree students from nearly all Finnish higher education institutions can take courses through FITech. Degree students at Aalto University and all other member universities of the FITech network can apply for courses.

If the course is organised by your home university, register for the course directly in your home university’s own system.

Degree students are not eligible for FITech’s digital badge. However, you can transfer credits from FITech courses to your degree by submitting a transcript of records to your home institution. Check your home institution’s instructions for credit transfer and have the courses approved by your home institution before you start the course.
