This is the 13th time when the Helsinki School is taking part in respected Paris Photo fair
This year Paris Photo fair is held in the historic Grand Palais in Paris on 11- 15 November. Taking part in the fair will be a carefully selected group of 147 galleries from 34 countries representing top-level photographic art. The annual Paris Photo fair is seen as one of the most important art fairs in the world, where artists have an opportunity to showcase their production in a key international arena.
The Helsinki School has participated in the event for 13 years running. With its active exhibition and publication activities, the Helsinki School promotes Aalto University's internationalisation by making the works of its artists known at various art fairs and exhibitions around the world. Paris Photo fair provides a good opportunity to create international contacts since there are many important people present such as curators, gallery owners, representatives of museums, collectors, critics and publishers, as well as the international press and the public at large.
The Helsinki School comprises photographers, who are studying or have studied at the School of Art, Design, and Architecture or who teach there. They are united by their conceptual approach to photographic art. Gallery Taik Persons, a gallery space which represents Helsinki School artists, has operated in Berlin since 2003.
