How to comply with Business Finland open access and open research data requirements? How to prepare a Data Management Plan (DMP)?
Open science requirements
The articles should be made open in one of the following ways:
- by publishing articles in the Open Access journals,
- by self-archiving articles e.g. in an institutional repository (ACRIS in Aalto University)
- Embargoes (publication delay periods) for the opening of publications is allowed
- Humanities and social sciences: 12 months
- Other fields: 6 months
- Embargoes (publication delay periods) for the opening of publications is allowed
It is not recommended to publish in hybrid open access journals in which some of the articles are opened by paying the article processing charge (APC).
Please also note
- The project research plan must include a publication plan in which Open Access publishing is taken into account
- Publication costs are not eligible costs in the project planning stage as they are now already included in the overhead cost multiplier for Aalto researchers.
- If you have questions regarding this, please contact the Grant Advisor(s) in your school.
- It is recommended to provide access to research material (e.g., research data) considering the legal framework and agreements.
- Data management plan (DMP) must be included to the research plan.
