Aalto AI Assistant Aalto AI Assistant is a chat-based application powered by the same language models as ChatGPT. Like all language models, it is a supportive tool that may occasionally make errors. You can use it for translations, refining text, generating content, brainstorming, and more. AI-supported translation tools AI‑supported translation tools are built inºÚÁÏÍø workstations and common software (such as Office tools). AI‑related services from SCI AI‑related services from the School of Science (SCI), such as Research Software Engineers (RSEs), Triton and locally maintained language models, provide expert support, computing resources and maintained AI environments for research. They help projects design, implement and run demanding AI workflows safely and efficiently on Aalto infrastructure
Checking for AI‑generated text (Turnitin) Turnitin’s AI writing detection helps teachers assess whether submitted text may have been generated by AI. It supports academic integrity by flagging suspicious passages, but results must always be interpreted with care and combined with professional judgement./en/node/1336014

1. AI APIs

Certain language models and other AI services can also be accessed via technical APIs, which enable the automatic processing of large datasets or the creation of interactive applications leveraging the AI capabilities.

3.1. Basics

Only public, internal and confidential data processing is permitted, excluding secret data. For more details on data classifications, please refer to the information provided at /en/cyber-security/quick-guide-to-information-classifications.

3.2. Costs

IT Services covers costs up to 300 euros / project. The additional costs must be paid the the project itself.

2. AI-related services from SCI

3.1.  The Aalto Research Software Engineers (RSEs) provide specialist support regarding software, computing, and data.

RSEs consist of experienced researchers who have broad experience with scientific computing (programming, computing, data) for the academic work, and thus can seamlessly collaborate on research projects. We can also do consultation and training.

3.2. Triton is the Aalto high-performance computing cluster. It serves all researchers of Aalto, coordinated from within the School of Science.
