Automatic liftups with featured content is a liftup component used for creating an automatically updating listing of upcoming events or latest news related to a selected topic area. In the right column of the component, a spotlight section can be created to lift up featured content, i.e. important news or events that should be highlighted. In practice, the left column of the component is an automatic liftups component, and the right column is a manual liftups component.

The component is available in the following content types: article and hub. The component can be used by all aalto.fi editors.

The component has two visual layouts: 

1. Automatic liftups on the left side, paired with manual liftups on the right side. To be used when there are important news or events to highlight on the right side.
2. Automatic liftups on the left side, paired with text and a call to action button on the right side. To be used when there are no important news or events to highlight on the right side. 

Instructions for using the Automatic liftups with featured content component

When creating an Automatic liftups with feature content component, the following fields and functionalities are available within the component:

• Maximum number of automatic liftups to show: Select '5' or '- None -' as the maximum number of automatic liftups to show on the left. When the maximum is '- None -', it is not recommended to place important content below the component as the length of the component can be very long.

Automatic liftups

• Content liftups title: Write a title for the automatic liftups displayed on the left.
• Content liftups description: Write a description for the automatic liftups displayed on the left.
• Metadata (primary tags, secondary tags, event category, content home, relates to, content visibility): Select the metadata to define the content that is lifted up on the left. Read more about the logic behind automatic liftups here.
• See all button: Edit the button text and URL of the 'See all' button displayed above the automatic liftups, if necessary. By default, the 'See all' button opens a listing that contains all the events or news matching the selected metadata.

Content liftups

• Content liftups title: Write a title for the manual liftups displayed on the right. If no manual liftups are selected, the title will not be visible.
• Content liftups list: Manually select the news or events to be displayed on the right. It is recommended to add only a few selected pages.
• Featured content description: Write a description for the manual liftups displayed on the right. If no manual liftups are selected, it is recommended to use the default description.
• CTA button link: URL: Add a URL address for the call to action button displayed on the right, or use the default URL. The button will be displayed only when no manual liftups have been added to the content liftups list.
• CTA button link: Link text: Add a button text for the call to action button displayed on the right, or use the default text. The button will be displayed only when no manual liftups have been added to the content liftups list.
