Today, finance is increasingly embedded into our lives and increasingly complex. This development means financial experts who understand the subject deeply from strategic, data-driven, and ethical perspectives are needed now more than ever.
At Aalto University’s Bachelor’s Programme in Finance, you’ll specialise in finance from day one. This programme combines a strong focus on finance, analytics, and strategic decision-making with key concepts from business and economics, giving you the tools to implement sound financial decisions under uncertainty. Financial markets also operate on trust, so you’ll learn to evaluate decisions not just for their financial outcomes, but also their broader impact on society.

Graduating from the Aalto University Bachelor’s Programme in Finance will prepare you for a high-powered career at the centre of key financial decisions in businesses and institutions. In the Bachelor’s Programme in Finance, the language of instruction is English.
The tuition fee for this programme is 12 000 euros per academic year. Citizens of European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland do not pay tuition fees. Citizens of other countries must pay tuition fees.
Aalto University offers a small number of scholarships in the form of tuition fee waivers to fee-paying students. Scholarships can be awarded to the highest-achieving applicants based on the programme's evaluation criteria. Applicants are ranked according to the criteria outlined on the programme's webpage.

The Bachelor’s Programme in Finance lasts three years and comprises a total of 180 ECTS. The programme is organized as full-time studies and teaching is organized as contact teaching on campus (except for a few exceptions).

Minor studies or international exchange (24-30 ECTS)
Language studies (11 ECTS)
Elective studies (10-16 ECTS)
Your first year focuses on building a solid foundation across finance, business, and economics. You’ll also start building your technical skills in mathematics and statistics as applied to finance.
In year two, you’ll deepen your understanding of how financial systems work within a broad economic, business, and societal context. You’ll focus on more advanced financial and economic concepts and continue with your electives. Year two will culminate in the capstone course, Finance and Society, where you’ll examine how financial systems interact with broad societal forces, from economic development to addressing global challenges like sustainability and financial instability.
In year three, you will write your bachelor's thesis and complete your elective studies. You then have the option of going on an exchange or completing a minor.
This bachelor’s programme focuses on a single major: Finance. Upon completing the basic studies, students prepare their personal study plan. The study plan helps students to direct their studies and make choices according to their unique interests, goals and life situation. For example, a minor in data science combined with a major in finance provides an excellent background for a career in consulting or as an financial analyst.
Most students continue their studies in the Master's Programme in Finance at Aalto University School of Business or other Master's Programmes at the Aalto University School of Business.
Finance is global, and you’ll be a part of this international environment from the start. You’ll join a tight-knit, diverse Aalto finance community with a great atmosphere and strong team spirit.
The student organisation, Aalto Finance, will connect you to international finance and industry leaders through frequent company collaboration, events, and regular trips to global financial hubs.
You’ll also have the chance to go on exchange at one of Aalto’s prestigious partner universities, broadening your perspective and deepening your understanding of global finance.

As a graduate of the Aalto Bachelor’s Programme in Finance, you will have built a strong foundation for master’s and doctoral level studies. You will have the automatic right to continue to Aalto’s Master's Programme in Finance.
