High-quality teaching is learning-centered, engaging, and well-planned, i.e., aligned practice that supports students in achieving competencies relevant to the future of the field within the intended timeframe. Aligned teaching means that the intended learning outcomes, content, assessment methods, and learning environment form a coherent and consistent whole both at the course and programme levels. In planning aligned teaching, it is essential to build a shared understanding of the purpose and goals of teaching within the teacher community.
