Academic advising
Academic advisor is a person, representing the study programme, with whom the student may discuss goals and wishes related to studies as well as topics related to the field and its research. Academic advisor is often a professor or a lecturer.
The aim of the guidance – and academic advising as a part of the guidance system – is to support the student in their study path. Academic advisor is a person who discusses, cares and gives advices if needed. When it comes to new students, academic advising plays a key role when student evaluates the interest and attractiveness of the programme in question. You may read more about academic advising in the menu below, organised in different Aalto schools.
